The Three Headed Monkey Awards – an international videogame competition

All fans of the videogame sector, animation or digital art now have an opportunity to take part in a unique competition. The Three Headed Monkey Awards will recognise and reward the best amateur projects in the field of videogames. Participants may enter either individually or in groups of up to six people in any of the competition categories: the ‘Best Videogame Prize’; the ‘Audience Choice Prize’; and the ‘UPC Prize’. Project proposals must be entered by 13 February 2012.

The competition will be open to finished videogames that contain a section or a part thereof completed, for example, anything upwards of two levels or one level and a boss battle. Participants will be required to present a video via http://upcvideogames.com/ showing the main parts of the videogame and an explanatory document containing basic information about the videogame. The competition will run from 12 December and project proposals may be entered at any time until 13 February 2012.

The Three Headed Monkey Prizes

The Three Headed Monkey Awards are divided into 3 independent categories: the ‘Best Videogame Prize’, which will be awarded by a panel of judges, is open to everyone and comes with a prize of 3,000 euros; the ‘Audience Choice Prize’ recognises the videogame most voted for by the public and comes with a prize of 1,500 euros; and the ‘UPC Prize’ is aimed at all those groups of participants in which at least half are, or have been, students at the UPC, the Fundació UPC or the UPC School and comes with a prize of 1,500 euros.
