Welcome to the fifth edition of the Three Headed Monkey Awards (3HMA), a video game and animation competition made by and for you, conceived to drive your talent, to spread your project and to help you build a professional future in the entertainment industry.

This new edition of the competition continues with the two new categories created last time: animation and young talent, so the prizes are grouped in the following categories:

  • VIDEOGAMES: prizes for the Best Videogame, Public Mention, UPC, Best Mobile Videogame.
  • ANIMATION: prize for the Best Animation.
  • GAME DESIGN: Young Talent prize for the under 18s.

1. Presentation of Videogame Projects

Complete the participation form.

What else do we need?

  • The basic details of the video game and the members of the group.
  • A short video with the different phases of the game..
  • A descriptive document with information about the video game.

You have until 23 February 2017!

2. Voting

Voting starts on 2 March 2017 after all the games have been entered.

Direct public voting will give us the first prizewinner: the Public Award, worth 1,500€.

3. Finalists

The finalists will be decided by voting by the public and a professional jury’s assessment.

They will be announced on this website on 27 April 2017.

4. Prizegiving

The winners of the 5th edition will be announced at the prizegiving ceremony on 9 June.

It will be a day with lectures, a networking and video game testing area that will accompany the prizegiving ceremony.

One of the categories of the Three Headed Monkey Awards (3HMA) videogames and animation competition is the Prize for the Best Animation.

The work to be presented will consist of a 2D or 3D short animation. The script and context are free, as are the tools to be used in making it. To demonstrate the authorship of the video, the project sources will also have to be provided. In the organisation we will not publish this material and will focus only on the works in everything regarding the event.

What else do we need?

  • The basic details of the participant/s (full name, date of birth, sex, nationality, telephone and email).
  • A short video with your 2D or 3D animation.
  • Document explaining your project.

2. Voting

The animation finalists will be decided by voting by the public and a professional jury’s assessment.

One of the categories of the Three Headed Monkey Awards (3HMA) videogames and animation competition is the Young Talent Prize for the under 18s or anyone who reaches this age in the year of the event.

1. Presentation of Young Talent Projects

What else do we need?

  • The basic details of the participant (full name, date of birth, sex, nationality, telephone and email)
  • Game design document (which will include the script, storyline, context, references, game mechanics and greater attention will be given especially to the inclusion of sketches of characters and scenarios. This document can optionally be completed with a small prototype developed with any desired technology).

You have until 6 April 2017.
